The concept for the aster restaurant and lounge located in Hamburg, Germany, was the bloom of a flower. While Hamburg is an industrial port city, it is also called the "Green City on the Water" because of the city’s emphasis on preserving nature. The design combined efficient space planning with a sophisticated atmosphere.

ASTER RESTAURANT & LOUNGE
One of the challenges for this restaurant and lounge project was designing a traffic flow that allowed the restaurant to close at 11:00pm and the lounge to close at 1:00am, while keeping the connection to the kitchen and bar open to both establishments. The solution was a circular traffic flow with a closed staff-only hallway near the kitchen and a sliding door connecting the restaurant and lounge near the entry.
